You will not be allowed to change your local chapter under the existing guidelines. But you can request from PICPA for change of local chapter in three (3) months after the date of elections. PICPA ELECTION MANUAL, ARTICLE III, Sec. 6. CHAPTER MEMBERS AND SECTOR MEMBERS provides, among others: “Every member of PICPA shall be both a member of a Chapter and a member of a Sector. A CPA shall be a member of the Chapter of the province or city where his residence or place of business is located. The acceptable sector information include (a) Commerce and Industry, (b) Education, (c) Government and (d) Public Practice. For members with acceptable sector information, you can not change the sector information for the upcoming elections. But you can request from PICPA for a change of sector immediately after the date of elections, subject to three (3) year tenure and/or under meritorious conditions. PICPA ELECTION MANUAL, ARTICLE III, Sec. 6. CHAPTER MEMBERS AND SECTOR MEMBERS provides, among others: At the time of registration, a CPA shall also elect to be a member of a sector regardless of his chapter affiliation. A CPA shall be a member of only one (1) Sector of his preference: changes in Sector affiliation shall be allowed only every three (3) years except in meritorious circumstances as allowed in the uniform rules to be approved by the National Board (amended on November 26, 2005). For members with NO acceptable sector information, mainly applicable to newly passed CPAs, you need to select a valid sector for you to enjoy the convenience of online voting.
